The "Come On Over Baby" singer gives new meaning to the song as she and husband Jordan Bratman welcome their first child around 4pm at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Friday. The couple announced the good news in a text message to their friends and family.
"Baby has arrived. Mom and dad are doing well!" the text reads. The singer's rep has no further details to add saying, "As soon as I have more information I will let you know."
The 27-year-old Grammy winning artist is rumored to have undergone a C-section; The former Mousekeeter had kept mum about her impending journey to motherhood, not acknowledging the rumors until early November when she admitted to Glamour magazine she would give birth sometime in 2008.
Aguilera confessed to Marie Claire magazine the reason for keeping her pregnancy a secret at first. She said they had plans on starting a family but were still surprised to learn about the baby: "We were planning on starting to try after the [Back to Basics] tour. And so, I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn't know how much time it would take. You've heard it takes some time - except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here. I'm like, 'Oh my God, can you believe it just happened?'"
