Britney Spears has employed the services of a double to throw both fans and media off the scent while she is in Rio De Janeiro for the Rock In Rio festival.

18-year-old Renata Barros has been working as a Britney lookalike for several months and even told the media that it was her dream to be signed up as Britney's official double.

The real Britney performs at the festival tomorrow (18 January) alongside Moraes Moreira, Sandy & J·nior, Aaron Carter, Five and NSync.

Pop princess Britney Spears is so terrified of a Japanese stalker - she's hired a lookalike to act as a decoy. The star was spotted with the double going to the ladies' room together in LA club White Lotus at the weekend. Britney first feared for her safety last year when obsessed Japanese fan Masahiko Shizawa started sending her notes and began following her. Although Shizawa has since returned to Japan, he has launched a US court campaign to return to America. A witness at the White Lotus says, "They were wearing identical low-cut jeans, ab-baring white mini-tops and matching baseball caps with two braids popping out." A source close to Britney explains, "An aide came up with the decoy idea after hearing that Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has look-a-likes dressed as him because he fears assassination. Britney is hoping everyone will think she keeps a decoy around to lose the photographers who follow her everywhere in Los Angeles. But the reason is that she wants to give unruly fans and dangerous stalkers the slip."

It's been over two weeks since Britney Spears' standoff meltdown that ended with her in a hospital and without any contact with her kids.

Still, the Blackout singer has not reached out and spoken with parents Lynne and Jamie, a Spears family source told E! Online Friday.

"Right now, the family is just focused and praying on Britney getting the help she needs," the source said.

Los Pitufos cumplen 50 años, con gira y nuevos productos

Bruselas. DPA.- Son azules, llevan gorros blancos y valen oro. Casi cualquier niño conoce a Los Pitufos. La serie se emite en televisión desde hace décadas. En los años 80, se desató en todo el mundo una verdadera "pitufomanía". Los enanitos azules no faltaban entonces en ninguna habitación infantil. Ahora los Pitufos cumplen 50 años. Pero de envejecimiento no hay rastro alguno.




Actualmente, hay niños siguiendo las aventuras de Los Pitufos por televisión en más de 30 países. Esta semana se publicará un nuevo libro en francés. Y, además, este año llegará a los cines una nueva película con tecnología 3-D.

En octubre de 1958, los Pitufos aparecieron por primera vez como personajes secundarios en el cómic "Johan y Pirluit". Los lectores quedaron muy entusiasmados con estos alegres gnomos. Le siguieron varias apariciones más hasta que su inventor belga Pierre Culliford -alias Peyo- (1928-1992) les dedicó directamente una serie propia.

Con la película "Los pitufos y la flauta mágica" comenzó en 1975 una cruzada triunfal por todo el mundo. En los años 80, le siguió la serie de televisión con unos 270 episodios, varios de ellos distinguidos con premios Emmy.

Peyo amplió sin embargo el vocabulario de sus lectores con la palabra "pitufo" ("schtroumpf", en el original francés). El nombre se le ocurrió por casualidad. Durante una comida, el autor de cómic le quería pedir a un colega que le pasara la sal. Pero no se le ocurrió la palabra sal y entonces simplemente dijo "schtroumpf". En otras lenguas, la curiosa palabreja se convirtió en "I Puffi" (italiano), "los Pitufos" (español) o "Strumparnir" (islandés).

Para que la popularidad no descienda, los Pitufos saldrán de gira por Europa en este año de aniversario. Recorrerán 20 ciudades en 15 países. En ellas, los organizadores repartirán varios miles de figuras de Pitufos blancos, para que los niños las puedan pintar. Además, habrá una edición de figuras para coleccionistas, sellos, camisetas y una mini-colección de los libros ya publicados.

Un nuevo álbum, "Los pitufos y el libro que dice todo", será lanzado el 18 de enero con varias novedades, entre ellas la ausencia de "Papá pitufo", cuyo lugar será ocupado por el "pitufo sabio", y la multiplicación de personajes femeninos para acompañar a la hasta ahora única "pitufina".

Además, IMPS, que administra el catálogo de más de 3.500 páginas de historietas, quiere "relanzar" la veta cinematográfica mediante la coproducción de un filme con la compañía estadounidense Paramount y una serie de 26 capítulos para la televisión.

Four photographers arrested chasing Britney

Not the fantastic four. Another group of four. Four photographers were arrested for reckless driving after a late night car chase of pop star Britney Spears on the outskirts of Los Angeles, police said on Thursday.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Sara Faden said the four were among a group of paparazzi seen driving at high speed in the Mission Hills area of the city around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday on the trail of the troubled singer.

"Britney Spears was part of the group, but was not driving recklessly," Faden said. She said four men were booked for reckless driving and each ordered to put up $5,000 bail.

According to the celebrity Web site www.TMZ.com, Spears told police that one of the cars, which she could not identify, may have tried to run her off the road.

Spears, 26, has been trailed by paparazzi day and night for several months as her personal and professional life has fallen apart following her divorce from Kevin Federline and bitter battles over the custody of her two children.
